software developer
Currently employed at Stellar Entertainment where I work with Unreal Engine 5 utilising the c++ programming language
When I get time I try to take part in game jams to learn new skills or work with something I don't have the most experience with
Technologies are constantly changing therefore developers must do the same and be constantly learning. Whether this be frameworks, coding languages or patterns
Irish developer fueled on caffeine
Originally from Cookstown, Northern Ireland. I began my journey as a developer by joining the Games Development course at the University of South Wales back in 2016. Here I learnt the fundamentals of programming and object oriented code. After graduating in 2019 I began working as a Software Developer full time with the NHS at Digital Health & Care Wales in Cardiff before making the change to game development at Stellar Entertainment in August 2022 where I am currently employed.
Over my time as a developer I have gotten to work with many languages such as C++, C#, SQL and a little bit of Python! I have gotten the opportunity to use many different tools and technologies including Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Winform, WPF, Unity Game Engine, Unreal Engine 5, Github, SSMS and Redgate SQL Compare/Data Compare!
Currently during my free time I captain a Splatoon 3 team where I am required to organise my team and keep our registration details updated for tournaments as well as communicating with other teams to arrange times for matches. When I'm not spending time staring at screen trying to code I will usually be trying to socialise outside with my friends or at the gym trying to convince myself I can lift the really heavy weights. I have currently taken a break from trying to learn how to skateboard but would love to get back into it the moment I get more free time.
